Living Lighter

The Salisbury Centre is delighted to announce that we have received a Scottish Government Climate Challenge Fund Grant for a 2 year project, which is now launching at the centre, and will run until March 2021.

The project will:

  • Initiate an annual Interfaith Environmental Summit to bring together people from the many faiths who meet at the Centre to exchange the imperatives expressed in all religions to protect the environment.  Each year the assembly will determine a collective action area which all of the organisations will support and promote to members.
  • Hold Climate Conversations and other workshops and film-showings
  • Use our gardens for growing and how-to sessions on food growing, and use our kitchen to demonstrate preserving and food waste reduction
  • Hold upcycling-stuff-swopping-eat-together evenings
  • Install new energy efficient sash and case windows

And hopefully have lots of fun along the way!

The project team includes Brenna Nyznik, project manager, Rachel Helms, our volunteer and outreach worker and Alan Mitchell, our new gardener. Please see our ‘People’ section to learn more about us.

To find out more about current and upcoming events, please check out the website’s ‘What’s On’ section, or contact livinglighter@salisburycentre.org for more information.

We hope to see you at the centre soon!
