Living Lighter

The Salisbury Centre is delighted to announce that we have received a Scottish Government Climate Challenge Fund Grant for a 2 year project, now running at the centre from April 2019 until March 2021.

The project will:

  • Initiate an annual Climate Gathering to bring organisations and members of the community together to determine a collective climate action area which all organisations will support and promote to members.
  • Hold climate conversations and other workshops and film-showings
  • Use our gardens for growing and how-to sessions on food growing, and use our kitchen to share meals and demonstrate cooking, preserving and food waste reduction
  • Hold upcycling and stuff-swopping events
  • Install new energy efficient sash and case windows

And hopefully have a lot of fun along the way!

The project team includes (left to right) Brenna Nyznik, project manager, Alan Mitchell, gardener, and Rachel Helms, volunteer and outreach worker.

Please see our ‘People’ section to learn more about us.
