This series of workshops (based on Carbon Conversations, heralded by The Guardian as one of the top 20 ways to save the world from climate change) focuses on personal action for all aspects of a carbon footprint. There have been over 6000 Carbon Conversations participants in the UK, and Carbon Conversations groups are now run in several countries around the world.
The Salisbury Centre has commissioned The Surefoot Effect to adapt the sessions for use in the Salisbury Centre to include mindfulness and relevance to the work of the Centre. Several research projects have shown that people typically save 1-3 tonnes of carbon emissions per year by participating in these friendly and relaxed sessions. Join just one or several of the online workshops. The sessions are:
30/4 Zero Carbon Future
18/6 Speaking to Friends and Family about Climate Change (it would be helpful to have attended one of the previous sessions before this one)
The accompanying handbook, In Time for Tomorrow, available for download, has been reviewed by Naomi Klein, author of This Changes Everything and The Shock Doctrine:
“This lovely handbook covers it all…reckons honestly with the psychological impacts of a crisis that is far too easy for many of us to deny in our everyday lives…”
