Self in the Systems – Workshops in Realising Social Justice
Six session series | Running on Mondays throughout March and April (commencing 6th March) from 6:30-8:30pm
What are these structural isms and what to do about them? Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) seems like a hot topic but these struggles have been going on a long time – more people are needed.
These group sessions will introduce and explore social justice. We will look at what oppression means and explore systems such as sexism, racism and abelism – how they surround us and affect us, how they replicate through us and perpetuate inequality.
This course will build your confidence in talking about social justice and your own experience. It will equip you to make change and deepen your understanding of yourself within these systems. You will learn tools that help you challenge these systems and bring about greater equality, diversity inclusion.
These sessions will be a combination of teaching and exploration where you will be invited to participate and bring things to explore. This will include shared readings, short videos, role play and other exercises. While together we will practice confidentiality and a consent.
Olivia Nathan is an experienced facilitator who, together with Chloe Lyth, creates a non-judgemental space for meaningful and transformative work. Whether you know a little or a lot – you are welcome.
These sessions will take place on the ground floor and is wheelchair accessible.
We have an accessible toilet and all our toilets are all gender.

Donations are encouraged if possible, for you and will be shared between the facilitators and the markers of the materials used.
