As part of the Living Lighter project, we will be hosting a screening of the Gaia Foundation’s film ‘Seeds of Freedom’, followed by an interactive discussion on Zoom. Featuring environmentalists, government representatives, food advocates, and farmers, the film highlights the importance of indigenous seed for biodiversity, culture, and food sovereignty.
About the film: ‘Seeds of Freedom charts the story of seed from its roots at the heart of traditional, diversity rich farming systems across the world, to being transformed into a powerful commodity, used to monopolise the global food system.’
At 7pm, we ask attendees to join the Zoom call where we will introduce the film and then watch the short film together. Afterwards we will have discuss our thoughts on the film, and perhaps what we can do with the film’s message.
This event is free but registration is essential. Attendees will be emailed instructions to join the Zoom session prior to the day.
