About the Scottish Ballroom Community practice sessions:

These are practice sessions are mostly for those with some experience Voguing etc, so that everyone can practice by themselves as well as in the group. We will then dedicate time towards 10s and battles for any category, especially if anyone is walking a ball soon. The sessions will occur regularly, on a donation basis. Priority will be given to QTPOC (Queer, Trans, People of Colour) and marginalised groups. Reach out via email if you are interested in joining!

Important Note:

these are not introductory sessions, keep an eye on Instagram (@HouseBallScotland and @Qiwa_event) for more information about beginners’ classes/workshops for Voguing, Runway etc.

Facilitator(s) :

These sessions will be facilitated by Asli 007, a young FQ in the Scottish Kiki scene who walks EU runway. Additional guidance offered by elders in the scene.

About Donations:

Participation in our community-led events is on a voluntary ‘by donation’ basis. This means that nobody is expected to make a payment if they cannot afford to do so.

Any donations received will be shared between the Centre and the facilitator, helping to make the events’ programme sustainable as well as to provide some reciprocity towards community facilitators’ time and skills offered.

Where a “suggested donation” is listed, this is just an indication of what the event might cost if it was ticketed.

This is an invitation to practice ‘Dana’ (generosity) – please pay only what you can afford to attend.

To donate:

  • bring cash
  • donate online on  www.salisburycentre.org/donate  (Please use reference “EVENT NAME“).
  • Card payment option available at the entrance hall (Please enter the event name before making payment)
