Salisbury Centre Beltane Celebration (No need to Book)

Beltane is an ancient celtic festival that marks the turning of the Celtic Wheel of the Year towards summer, and is a festival of fertility, life and abundance. It is a time of community, joy and revelry and a scared moment to move from planning to action towards any goals or dreams you may desire

No need to book !!  See you tonight!

What we will do

At this family-friendly event, you will be invited to write any wishes you have for the coming season on the ribbons before tying them to a tree in the garden. At Lammas, you will be invited back to take down your ribbon and reflect on the passing season. Other activities will include:

  • An acoustic jam around the fire – bring along your instruments!
  • Face-painting
  • Tarot reading
  • Daisy chain jewellery

Activities start at 5pm. From 7pm, we will be holding a ceremony around the fire.

The event will close around 8pm.

As a community event, we encourage you to bring something to share in the form of vegetarian food, circus equipment, and instruments! Do you also have any lawn games you might want to run? Keen to help cook up a pot of soup for fellow community members? Get in touch with gray@salisburycentre.org.

Dressing up is encouraged!

No need to book !!  See you tonight!

P.S. if you are free earlier during the day, why not join our regular Wednesday Open Art Class (14:00 – 17:00), a creative space where everyone who comes along can create their own work while sharing a good vibe and some nice tunes!

*Dress appropriately for the weather

*The Salisbury Centre is a strictly alcohol-free space

We look forward to sharing a part of this day with you, and may we each enter the summer with inspiration and joy in our hearts!

This is a drop-in event, so no need to get a ticket. However, if you want to ensure entry, please book a ticket. We can accomodate up to 50 people in the garden and will allow non-ticket-hoders in on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Participation in our community-led events is often on a voluntary ‘by donation’ basis. This means that nobody is expected to make a payment if they cannot afford to do so. However, any donations received will be shared between the Centre and the facilitators, helping to make the events’ programme sustainable as well as to provide some reciprocity towards community facilitators’ time and skills offered.

Please consider ‘paying it forward’ by donating a bit extra if you can afford, helping to keep it possible for everyone to take part, regardless of their circumstances.

To donate:

Bring cash on the day, or donate online on www.salisburycentre.org/donate (using “Beltane” as REFERENCE).

Pay with card at the front door, please add a reference (eg. Beltane) using the pen icon top right on the pay-point screen

Accessibility & Kids

The event will take place in the Salisbury Centre garden, which is two steps down from the main building. We do now have an accessible toilet!

Accompanied children are very welcome to join in with any of the activities, according to the suggested age guidelines for each session.
