This garden workshop is free but spaces are strictly limited to adhere to Covid-19 safety measures. Please only attend if it is safe for you to do so. If you become unable to attend, please cancel your ticket to allow someone else to take your spot.
Many of us have come to appreciate the beauty and value of growing things in the garden during this time. There has been a wake-up call about where our food comes from, and the importance of locally grown food. Growing your own food and distributing seeds and knowledge to allow others to do the same makes for a resilient community!
With the Living Lighter Project, we are excited to start our own seed library at the Salisbury Centre, with the hope to grow it as part of an Edinburgh-wide seed library network! In this hands-on workshop, we will look around the thriving food and wildflower garden and learn various seed-saving techniques, and how to store different seeds. As well as beginning the Centre seed library, we will explore creative ways to start your own community seed library!
If you have any open pollinated seeds saved that you may want to deposit in the Centre’s new seed library, please bring them along.
After the workshop, we encourage those interested in being involved in establishing an Edinburgh seed library network to stick around, and we will start planning some ideas.
This workshop is free but spaces are limited. Be sure to register on Eventbrite or email firstname.lastname@example.org
