Grief Tending in Community: Grief circles around a fire

Grief Tending in Community: Grief circles around a fire

When: 7-9pm on the 4th Tuesday of the month (Re-starting  26 Sept)

Where:  Salisbury Centre Fire Pit (Garden – fully accessible venue)

If you would like to be more deeply in touch with grief (as pain/rage/sorrow) that you carry in relation to your life or to what’s happening in the world, and long for a space in which to express your grief in the companionship of others, please join us.

We hold the circles with care, building first connection and safety to support grief in all its many forms to flow, and then creating ceremonial space for speaking and witnessing the grief we individually and collectively hold.

We are inspired by the work of Francis Weller, Joanna Macy and others, and combine it with our nonviolent communication practice.   If it will be your first grief circle with us, please contact us at least 48 hours before the circle so that we can share information about our practise beforehand.  If you’d like to know more, please get in touch: grieftending@nvcdojo.org

To book your space email: grieftending@nvcdojo.org (Max 12 participants)

Suggested donation – £5-10

Donate via cash or card on the day. You can also donate online www.salisburycentre.org/donate (And use ‘GRIEF’ as reference)

About Donations:

Participation in our community-led events is on a voluntary ‘by donation’ basis. This means that nobody is expected to make a payment if they cannot afford to do so. However any donations received will be shared between the Centre and the facilitator, helping to make the events’ programme sustainable as well as to provide some reciprocity towards community facilitators’ time and skills offered.

Where a “suggested donation” is listed, this is just an indication of what the event might cost if it was ticketed – it is fine to donate less (or nothing at all). Yet if you can afford to and find value in the Salisbury Centre’s offerings , please consider ‘paying it forward’ by donating a bit extra helping to keep it possible for everyone to take part, whatever their circumstances.
