Deepening Connection With Nature

Deepening Connection With Nature🌿

We are delighted to offer this special course with  Nadine Andrews as part of our ecological wellbeing programme.

The course will take place over six evenings and one full day.

  • Thursday  – 27 April, 4/18/25 May, 8/15 June 7-9 pm in Salisbury Centre

and

  • Saturday 3 June 10 am-4 pm (tbc) at Bawsinch Nature Reserve

Course Information:

Becoming more finely attuned to our selves and other living beings and to natural phenomena and cycles can help to bring us into a more harmonious relationship with ourselves, each other and the Earth. In this course we will practice ways to deepen our connection with nature and build relationships of care with particular places and their inhabitants; cultivating qualities of patience, slowness and humility, and integrating these practices into daily life.

The course takes a mindfulness-based approach and draws on Taoist philosophy and physical arts practice. Themes include body-mind awareness and sensory acuity, natural navigation and place familiarisation, animal tracking and bird language, engaging with our feelings about loss of nature, and looking at  how nature deals with stress and applying those insights to our own lives.  All sessions involve group work and solo practice, and as the final session is close to the summer solstice we will end with a ritual to mark this turning point in the year and reflect on its psychological meanings.

About Nadine Andrews:
Nadine is an accredited coach and qualified Mountain Leader and has been teaching mindfulness and nature connection for 10 years since training in mindfulness teaching with Bangor University Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice in 2013. She has practiced mindfulness meditation and Taoist physical arts for almost 20 years, and has completed many nature related training courses e.g. in biomimicry, bushcraft and tracking, wildlife identification, wild food foraging, natural navigation, permaculture design and ecopsychology.
