At the Salisbury Centre’s Crack a Story: Plant a Seed sessions we invite storytellers to share a story dear to them, with a spiritual theme. It is followed by a “crack” – Scottish word for conversation – exploring the story, its deeper meanings and how it speaks to us and our world today.
On Wednesday evening the 9th of December, we’re delighted to be hosting storyteller Franziska Droll for our winter special online on zoom! Originally from Germany, she’ll be sharing the famous tale of Frau (mother) Holle.
When the air gets colder, the nights longer and the days to Christmas are coming closer, all children dream of a white Christmas. And in Germany they all pray that Gold-Marie will be with Frau Holle, shaking her feather pillows out of the window, so snow will fall down on the earth. Come and cosy up on your couch, and hear their story!
After the story you’re invited to stay for some conversation and creative activities to explore the story more.
Because of Covid-19 restrictions, the storytelling session will be online.

Franziska Droll was born and bred in the Black Forest, Germany, and moved to Scotland after falling in love with the country and the people.
She loves to tell traditional Scottish stories, tales from the Black Forest and myths and legends from all around the world. Her style is interactive and entertaining. No story is like the other, but they will all leave you with a smile.

The Crack a Story sessions are part of the Salisbury Centre’s community programme and are offered on donation (suggested donation £5). All contributions will be split between the storyteller and the Salisbury Centre. Please add the code CAS to your transfer.
