My name is Bettina Horvath. I’m a fully qualified and independent Holistic Therapist, with many years of experience in offering my professional, personalised approach. Based within the heart of the beautiful Old Town Edinburgh, where I moved from my homeland of Hungary in 2010, my practice and what I have to offer has been honed, crafted and discovered alongside my own personal healing journey. Introducing Reiki Energy Healing into my life was a huge turning point for me upon settling in this magical land, a shift in where my path lay, and I began to delve deeper into this learning. Five years later, I have fully completed my training to the Reiki Master.
I continued to deepen my journey and find my roots through studying a further three years as a Shamanic Practitioner, helping to connect to the cycles of nature, understanding the importance of moving with the seasons, shifting from inwards to outwards and inwards again, the dance that lies at the heart of any true healing. I learned through my journey that there is no true change without the element of chaos, but that there are always willing hands to guide you through the waves of life, to help move our own innate blocks and resistances, so that our inner waters may flow more freely.
At Salisbury Center I offer a compassionate and guided experience through working 1:1 with clients exploring Reiki Energy Healing & Shamanic way of Healing.
Reiki encourage the whole person including mental, emotional and physical healing, improving the flow and balance of your energy to support healing.
I’m truly delightful to be part of the Salisbury Center Community Therapist to offer monthly free Reiki sessions to people on benefits or a low income, who would like to have treatments but cant afford it.
If this speaks to your heart, please reach out and contact me. I’d love to work with you.

Douglas’ journey as a masseur began while travelling and living in Thailand where he learnt Thai and Ayurvedic massage, first in a secular Buddhist healing centre and then in Australia, covering both Eastern and Western approaches. His journey continued in Edinburgh where he completed a Diploma in Holistic Massage Therapy with the Massage Training Institute, which included Swedish and deep tissue massage.
From the initial consultation Douglas will work with you toward your specific aims, whether stress management or the relief of pain. Swedish massage is excellent for relaxation and as a warmup for deep tissue work on chronically tight or sore muscles. Douglas believes that massage is an essential element of self-care. In his own words, “sharing relaxed and body centred presence is one of life’s greatest gifts.” In his spare time he enjoys nature while hiking, cycling or surfing. His supportive, complementary practices are regular yoga, qi gong, and ongoing training in Non-Violent Communication.
