About the organiser:

Aye Breathe (Spit it Out Project)

Spit it Out is an award-winning Scottish based organisation dedicated to opening conversations around consent, mental health and healing through creativity and community care. We realise the overarching goals of our project through collaborating with our community in delivering free activities in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Online. We work to create a lasting change in our community and create a support network within people who feel isolated and have been through trauma and mental health crises.

Aye Breathe was born of the realisation that the Spit it Out audience did not feel confident or welcome in the outdoors. Despite knowing the healing power of nature on the mind, they felt like it was not their place or felt out of reach because of a lack of knowledge, resources or mental space. We wanted to use this platform to offer them the opportunity to try new things, feel better and learn about themselves.

About donations:

Participation in our community-led events is often on a voluntary ‘by donation’ basis. This means that nobody is expected to make a payment if they cannot afford to do so. However, any donations received will be shared between the Centre and the facilitator, helping to make the events’ programme sustainable as well as to provide some reciprocity towards community facilitators’ time and skills offered.

To donate:

  • bring cash on the evening, or
  • donate online on  www.salisburycentre.org/donate  (using “aye breathe” as REFERENCE).
  • pay with card at the front door, please add a reference (eg. ayebreathe) using the pen icon top right on the pay-point screen

This is an invitation to practice ‘Dana’ (generosity) – please pay only what you can afford to attend.
